Michael P. Ritter, Architect


Mr. Ritter received his B. Architecture from the Illinois Institute of Technology and a B.A., with a major in Fine Arts, from New York University.


In his forty year career, Mr. Ritter has worked on some of the largest construction projects in the nation, such as being one of the inspecting Architects on the Sears Tower, and some of the smallest, including designing several newsroom broadcast sets for the local Sarasota T.V. station.  Mr. Ritter has been very active in state and local professional organizations, including spending several years on the Board of Directors of the Florida Association of the American Institute of Architects.


Mr. Ritter has worked on projects in Florida, New York, Colorado, Illinois and North Carolina.



Richard B. Miga, Architect


Mr. Miga received a B.P.S. from Buffalo University and has several years training in computer technology.


After working for several years in Washington, D.C. specializing in corporate facilities, Mr. Miga came to Sarasota twenty-five years ago to work on local and international projects.  He helped develop and holds the copyrights to several computer aided architectural design and building management programs.


Mr. Miga has worked on projects in Florida, New York, Maryland, Washington, D.C., Virginia, Vermont, Massachusetts, Hungary, Poland, Costa Rico, China and Canada.



Walter W Hamm, Architect and LEED AP


Mr. Hamm received his Master of Architecture degree at the University of Florida.  He has thirty years experience designing and producing construction documents for retail commercial enterprises, professional offices, and single family and multi-family residential projects.  Mr. Hamm is also a design specialist in the fields of energy conservation and sustainable building technology, and he process LEED documents for the firm.



John Manley, Architect


Mr. Manley was educated and worked for several decades in England before coming to Florida.




Jim Finch, Senior CAD Draftsperson and Designer


Mr. Finch received a B. Arch. From the University of Virginia and he also has a certificate from the Ecole des Beaux Arts in Fountainebleau, France.  He has over forty years experience in design, construction documents, specification writing and reviewing construction in progress.



Megan Fornuto, Computer Drafting and Design


Mrs. Fornuto received a certificate for architectural Computer Aided Drafting and Design from the CDM Institute in Mt. Laurel, NJ.  She worked in the construction industry, then produced computer drafting documents for an Architect of custom homes in NJ, then came to Florida in 2006 and has been associated with Ritter, Miga since then.



Company Computer Systems


The company currently uses the ARCHICAD computer aided drafting system for the majority of our design and construction document drawings, and we use various spreadsheet and word processing systems to produce specifications and other technical information needed for the projects.



Engineering and other Services



When needed to complete projects, the firm employs outside consultants in the fields of Structural, Electrical, Mechanical, Ventilation, Plumbing and Fire Protection Engineering.  Also when needed to complete design contract and client requirements, we will employ Landscape Architects, Civil Engineers, Commercial Kitchen Designers and Interior Designers.  We choose these professionals based on their experience and ability to satisfy the project goals.  Many times we recommend these consultants to the client or contractor who will employ them separately form our firm, but we will always cooperate fully with all of the professionals working on the project to produce the best design results possible.


The firm provides LEED certification applications and documents, energy conservation design and sustainable building and community design using the services of both our staff and our consultants.
